Ingredients of Brownies

  1. Prepare 200 g of dark chocolate.
  2. Prepare 175 g of butter.
  3. It's 325 g of caster sugar.
  4. It's 130 g of plain flour.

  6. Prepare of large handful of chopped nuts (I used Brazils and Pecans).

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Combine the flour, cocoa and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. In a mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the eggs at medium speed until fluffy and light yellow. Brownies and blondies, these two irresistible bar cookies are so easy to make.

  1. Line a square 9 x 9 tin and pre heat oven to 200c.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate together - I did this on the hob using a bain marie (a bowl over boiling water-make sure the boiling water doesn't touch the bowl).
  3. Mix the sugar into the melted chocolate butter mix..
  4. Mix in the flour.
  5. Crack the eggs into a separate bowl and gently whisk with a fork..
  6. Stir the eggs into the brownie batter and mix until well combined. Add the nuts and stir until evenly distributed..
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the oven for 25-35 minutes depending on how fudgey you like your brownies. Leave them to cool for atleast 45 minutes before slicing them into squares..
