  2. You need 5 of eggs.
  3. It's 2 tsp of vanilla extract.
  4. You need 1 1/2 cup of Crisco.
  5. Prepare 2 tsp of vinegar.
  6. Prepare 1/3 cup of Cocoa.
  7. Prepare 3 cup of All purpose flour.
  8. Prepare 1 tsp of baking powder.
  9. It's 1/4 tsp of salt.
  10. You need 1 cup of sour cream.
  11. It's 2 oz of Red food color.

Red Velvet Cake step by step

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Cream together Crisco, eggs, vanilla, sugar.
  3. Blend in vinegar, cocoa & red food color.
  4. Mix together flour, salt & baking powder.
  5. Add one cup of flour mixture & mix 1 minute.
  6. Next add cup of sour cream, mix one minute.
  7. Add last cup of flour & mix until everything is blended - scrape down sides of bowl.
  8. Grease & flour a bundt pan. Add mixture & bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes depending on oven.
  9. Remove from oven & let cool for 10 minutes.
  10. Invert onto cake plate. Once cool, drizzle with cream cheese frosting.
  11. Frosting: Mix together 1 stick of butter, 1 block of cream cheese, 1 box of powdered sugar & 2 tsp of vanilla extract. Pecans optional..
